Female ferrets should be spayed if kept as pets. If they go into heat and donít mate, they can become anemic and die.

I am desparately trying to find the reference for this, but - a group of American scientists have carried out studies and discovered that half an hour with a ferret is more productive than medication for folk suffering with depression! It boils down to the fact that ferrets are basically ace - they have really strong characters and personalities!

*Wanders off to find the reference for this study...and a ferret!*

Yea but surely the effects wear off quicker, you might be happt when the ferret is around but after say two or three hours your right back to depressed. Also if you have a fear of ferrets I'm sure it wouldn't be so successful

Ferrets are indeed ace. You need nver be without your ferret. They love to ride around in your pockets.

I wonder if it's anything to to with pheremones. They certainly pong.

I suppose the downside is that once the ferret pootles off you are back to square one, but I just love the idea that ferrets can cure the world's upsets! Maybe we should staff the United Nations entirely with ferrets?

EDIT - apparently, ferrets don't help you to spell properly!!

Now that's a pet I would buy!

Cure typos and depression in one go. BANG and the problem has gone!

Ferrets can be fun (we have 6!!!!! insanity starts at 2)

But we have one that constantly (and i mean constantly) keeps knicking the TV remote.

Im suprised (and relieved) that no-one has mentioned the late Mr Whitely.

When I was but a child we had Ferrets and females were put to a vesectomised cob when in season.

I always believed they die if this does not happen.

I have no idea as to why.

A QI fact about ferrets which I am sure the ferret lovers on this thread all know is that ferrets are very susceptible to the common cold virus and unfortunately it can be fatal, especially to young ones ,as we found out to our cost.
And yes, ferrets are ace!
