Woo I'm in first...yaaay for Alan gain...is that the third time this series?
Oh anyway, what I wanted to leap in and say was...have I gone slightly peculiar in that one of the first things I thought on seeing Stephen this week was "Ooh he looks like James May"?

Stephen's outfit did prompt me to consider a sequel to his 1997 film. "Wilde 2: Return to the Wilde"...

Great show to end the series. Another victory for Alan and some great snippits of quite interesting info - in particular the museum of pornography.

I've been promising myself I'd not mention the availability of the episodes on Youtube, but promises are for fools and made to be broken...

Added 9/10 hours ago so they should have been there at the time of your post (tommymailno's regular QIage allows me to go to the pub on Fridays and still see the latest QI). I'm slightly confused by the fact that the 3 parts have differing numbers of views - I am easily confused though. You'll have to wait till next week for the vodcast though.

I have posted this in another thread, but there was a slight error in this episode. The Phallological museum isn't in Reykjavik. It moved to Husavik, in the north of Iceland, a few years ago.

But does Björk do the audio commentary, still? ;)

Not to my knowledge. The person who runs it is, however, my old history teacher.

Welcome aboard, angela_ - you may just be our first contributor from Iceland. And you are of course absolutely right - as I noted in post 121113, Husavík is about as far from Reykjavík as one can get in Iceland.

robertkelly50, who has scarcely been seen in these parts since, was the first to mention that museum here, a little over a year ago, and he correctly placed it in Husavík (post 121018).

Its website can be found at www.phallus.is. (It's in Spanish, English, German, French and Icelandic. The other flag shown is the Esperanto one, but that section of the text seems not to have been written yet.)

Thank you for the warm welcome, Suze.
I watch QI religiously and it kind of stung me when it was mentioned that The Phallological museum was in Reykjavik and not in Husavik. I just had to get my point across and that's really why I signed on..
Hope I can be of some help, if I really am the only Icelandic contributor.

I guess I should mention QI is not the only reason I want the BBC. BBC news as well

To be fair to the show, that comment struck me as something The Fry produced off the cuff from his own vast, but apparently (in this case at least) flawed, memory and not one of the lovingly researched factoids produced by the behind-the-scenes elves.

Perhaps that's one for the Retractions Special that I keep hearing so much about :)

Yeah, stick around and dip a toe into the waters. You'll find the regulars are mostly friendly, as long as you don't engage in any of the really controversial topics.

Like whether Alan looks better with long hair or short hair :)
