No, in real life they're called "eenie", "meenie", "miney", and "mo". |
I wish! That would be so much easier. In real life they're called "hey you" or "what's your name again?"

Depends mostly on how short the boys' hair has been cut.
In secondary school our principal used to call out at assembly, "You in the blue jumper! You know who you are!". This would have been okay except that blue jumpers were part of the uniform, and most of us were wearing them...
What should I be doing right now - getting ready to pick up Daughter and No. 1 Son from school (accompanied by Sons No 2 and 3).

Do you ever call your children the names of all the other children before finally happening on the actual name?
My mum used to do that. Even to me, despite the fact that I have no sisters, and my brothers and I aren't really alike in any way... |

Go easy on your Mum. It's hard being a mother, because most stuff tends to fall to them to do (and if it doesn't, the mother tends to worry about it anyway). It's a fairly stressful occupation.
And yes, I mix up my kids' names (yes, even that of my one and only daughter). I have a conglomerate multipurpose name with which I can address them all. They don't mind, the eldest two in particular think it's quite funny, and correct me if I get *that* one wrong!
My Mum used to get my brother and me mixed up - yes, there's only two of us. Most of that was on the phone though; we sounded fairly identical as children, and even now, his voice isn't overly-deep, and mine isn't overly high, so they're still rather similar.
Hey, guess what - I'm now doing the same thing I was this time yesterday - sitting at the computer procrastinating instead of getting No. 3 son up to go pick up No. 2 son from preschool...

'salright. It's only 5 mins drive and I made it with plenty of time, including getting No. 3 son dressed and in the car!
Now all hell's breaking loose because No. 2 son has to eat his lunch, get dressed in his uniform and we have leave by 1 to be at "big school" by 1.15 (he goes to "big school" one afternoon a week to break him in for when he starts full-time in January). No. 3 is doing alright...I have to eat my lunch as well...argh! Fortunately all was prepared whilst No. 2 son was at preschool and No. 3 was napping.

EDIT: PC? Pshaw! I use a Mac :) |

| One brother moved out, the other two are still quite alike, and she does get them mixed-up occasionally. We're all almost grown-up now though so it's easier to tell who's who. |

| I'm coming up to the quarter century now, and I'm the youngest of us, and Mum still hasn't a clue which of us is which. We're even conveniently coded by height (the oldest brother is the tallest, I'm the shortest) so as to make things easier for her, but to no avail. Ah well. |
