Spot on, though I suppose the clue was in the title of the thread.

It was named the Most Beautiful Object in South Africa by Dutch designer Jurgen Bey.

Corkscrew Addicts Association (whatever the correct "official" name) should put it on its lists...

Also in India, condom lubricants are used to give a smooth finish and shine to Benaras silk saris.

Quote:

For waterproofing, condoms are cut and spread under the cement-concrete mortar above ceilings; and as for roads, large quantities of condoms are mixed with tar-concrete in hot-mix plants to churn out a high quality road finish product.

Apparently only 25% of condoms in India are used for their proper use.

And finally:

A survey of more than 1,000 men in India has concluded that condoms made according to international sizes are too large for a majority of Indian men.

In the USSR, condoms were among the hardest things to get: there was only one factory making them. What's more, over 50 percent of them were DELIBERATELY defective and would literally fall apart when in use - a primitive ruse of the rulers to boost the declining birth rates. It was not unusual to wear two and three of them at a time (to be in the safe side), but even that often didn't not stop them from breaking!

He had 9 children.

However, Gray, my Catholic great-grandma had 22 pregnancies, of whom 12 were born alive (some miscarried, some stillborn) and eleven grew to adulthood, so nine doesn't sound so bad in that context.
