Sorry for the overuse of punctuation marks, but my joy knows no bounds.
Stephen Fry is to be cast as The Guide!

I mean, the first film was so utterly, utterly miserable...

I enjoyed it! But I can see that Stephen Fry would be magnificent as The Guide.

Fisrt film? Do you mean tv show.

I think Alan Rickman as the voice of Marvin is the most inspired casting I have ever heard of in my life.

It is going to be the greatest movie ever.

Totally agree, I can really hear him as Marvin

Know any other actors that have been cast?

This is a good site for movie-related information. The two gentlemen making it are a very wise choice - they're 'totally hip to' the kind of thing Douglas wanted, and they understood the script that he had just about polished off before he died.

It's going to be (a) very different, and (b) cooooool.

I have a horrible feeling it is going to be terrible, the script was finalised after DNA’s death, Stephen Moore (the voice of Marvin on Radio) has been dropped, Ford Prefect, who everyone thought was from Guildford has become an American! Marvin has changed from the “colour of a black Saab Turbo” to a bunch of white beach balls.

The pictures were better on radio; I am going to spend my money on the BBC CD’s of the 3rd & 4th series instead.

Re that cast list, Jane Belson is Douglas's widow and Polly Adams is his daughter.

Is Katherine Smee any relation to Mr Smee of Peter Pan fame?

It's all a secret collaboration with The Prisoner.

Is/was Polly Adams married to John Cleese?

When Sanjeev whateverhissurnameis did that 100 top book guide thing to it, I thought it was boring. However, I tend to think he is boring, but I'll check the new version out if it involves such people as:
Stephen Fry
Bill Bailey
Alan Rickman
Martin Freeman
Zooey Deschanel (formally of Elf).
