Polar explorers (male) who are circumcised are more prone to frostbite.

At last the answer to an interesting observation - why do the German always get their towels out first to reserve their sun loungers by the pool? The three papers The Mail, Telegraph and Independent have some ideas.

That is absolutely horrible if it's true! (If it's true you only have a minute or two to pee before in danger of damage, I guess it is.)

Don't mention the w...

...ind farm. According to international borders and international rules, is the offshore wind farm Riffgat fully located in Germany?

Please note that the Wikipedia article isn't accurate, or the answer to the question is probably yes: "Early 2011, the Dutch government stated that the wind farm was partly in Dutch territory and protested against the issuing of construction licenses by the German government.". I don't think that natural gas is the underlying issue, but I'm not sure about that.

Believe you me, if that was the only issue with Riffgat my parents would be sucking Diesel (or windpower I guess). The main problem has rather been that the tidelands there were still so full of WW II ammo that they weren't able to actually lay the cables to get the power to shore. Apparently they're now finally cleared and building has resumed. Estimated completion date? No idea... That kind of shit is becoming more and more prevalent in Germany and that worries me.

From the Telegraph article "It is much smaller for Brits, by more than 30 minutes, which means that the working day starting at 8.50am (compared to the German work day starting at 8.20am on average) better suits the sleep need of the UK population.''

I think that is arse backwards thinking, I think the working day has conditioned the sleep pattern and not the other way around. I know this as moving from a job which started at 9 am to one that starts at 7 am my sleep pattern has shifted by 2 hours.

In Series G it was previously mentioned that the Germans have issues with men standing up when they go to the lavatory.

Well now a judge has ruled in favour of men's right to stand up when they urinate. A landlord had tried to seek 1,900 after claiming that his marble floor had been damaged by urine, but Judge Stefan Hank of Duesseldorf said: 'men who insist on standing "must expect occasional rows with housemates, especially women" but cannot be held to account for collateral damage. "Despite growing domestication of men in this matter, urinating while standing up is still common practice"'.

That is preposterous. If they cannot clean up after themselves, they should pay for a bleaching effect or whatever urine does on various floors.

*Pats myself on shoulder for understanding the German words* (I need something to lift my self-esteem!)

Also very funny. I might even go so far as to call it brilliant.

The German for 'multiplication tables' is 'das Einmaleins', literally meaning, 'the one times ones'.
