I don't suppose this is really general ignorance, but it's bound to get a few laughs and it doesn't really fit anywhere else.

Anyway.

Question: Are most snakes right-handed or left-handed?

Answer:

Right-handed, or seeing as they don't have hands, right-penised.

Snakes have two penises, hemipenises which can act independently. Researchers at Oregon State University have studied the penises of around 500 dead garter snakes and found that in the vast majority the right penis is larger, suggesting more use.

This is supposedly analogous to humans' preference for one hand over another.

I think that's great! Are there any other animals which don't have hands but are "handed"?

You'd think the one that got more wear would be smaller, rather than bigger.
