I checked out some half-remembered information about the number of calories in the average male ejaculation, and came up with some QI information courtesy of Straight Dope.

Although nutritional elements in semen and egg white are not exactly equivalent: both are about 90% water, and in both the remaining 10% is made up of relatively high calorie nutrients, so they are comparable in calorie content. A standard egg white is about 35 cc and contains about 14 calories and 3 grams of protein. The normal size ejaculation is about 5 cc, and therefore contains about 2 calories and .1 gram of protein.

However, it's not necessarily as straightforward as that, in that the nutritive content of ejaculations from different men varies widely - eg the amount of fructose varies over a 400% range. Also, the volume of ejaculate varies from 3 to 5 cubic centimeters.

Having said that, 5cc of anything that is 90% water is unlikely to be a problem even in the most finely calculated diet.

I do remember being told that to make, ahem, ejaculate somewhat more palatable than it would otherwise be, one was supposed to encourage one's gentleman frined to eat pineapple or, in one account, jaffa cakes. Is this merely an urban myth, or does anyone know (and is prepared to own up to knowing) if this is true?

Well I haven't studied the matter in a scientific way, but I'd not disagree with the notions above.

Large amounts of alcohol and/or coffee have a less agreeable effect.

I seem to recall the band 10cc named themselves after the average volume of ejaculation?

That's disputed.

Their first manager was none other than Jonathan King, and he claims that he chose the name after having a dream about "10cc The Best Band in the World". Not that you have to believe everything that particular individual says, but he always denied the claim that the name was anything to do with ejaculation.

Thanks, that is interesting.

I have to say, however, I have met the guy on several occasions and would not trust a word he says, so who knows for sure?

I think I am right in saying he still owns/earns from the band's publishing,... i.e. every time the record is sold or played on the radio for example.

You might know better?

I can't find a reliable source for this, but I do remember hearing that the average ejaculate leaves the body at an average of 12 MPH. That is provided you don't do any squeezing to restrict the flow.

I remember watching a programme about a porn studio & the 'star of the show' said he always had lots of egg whites handy. He never mentioned the effect on the taste, but he did comment on the distance.
