How about Alan's story about the pub owner in the first episode?

I fear that's a gag. He uses it in his stand-up and also told it on his Room 101 appearance ten years ago, shortly after eating a tomato and getting all the insides out - "that tells you something"...

A good 'un, mind.

It's still funny though, especially with everyone's reaction - the longest laugh they'd ever heard.

More suggestions for classic clips:

Stephen explaining how the Tiger and the Stoat make the same noise, Bill Bailey suggesting that a Stoat is "some kind of bonsai tiger", and Alan imagining how an adopted Stoat would react when he realised that the Tigers weren't his real parents.

Stephen explaining how, before Edison (I think) used the word "Hello" as a greeting, it was only ever used as an expression of surprise. Particularly the bit where Stephen tried to claim that it still was used as such, with Bill Bailey mocking him for being stuck in the Edwardian age and coming out with classic lines such as:

"Cover those table legs, mother, lest they inflame my ardour!"

Stephen explaining how the Tiger and the Stoat make the same noise, and Alan imagining how an adopted Stoat would react when he realised that the Tigers weren't his real parents.

Sorry. All that stoat worrying I've been up to lately has left me unable to think of anything else :)

You mean you can't tell the difference between a stoat and a weasel?

It's simple - the weasel is weasily distinguished while the stoat is stotally different.

That very ancient joke works much better spoken than typed, when questions of spelling start raising their ugly heads.

Ronni's obscurity story and Alan's types of plants, both from this weeks ep, *must* join the archive.

The part where Stephen asks an odd one out question, to which the answer is that none of them are the odd one out, and Phill Jupitus exclaims 'What kind of hellish quiz is this?!'.

Yes, Bill Bailey's take on "the animals went in two-by-two". Priceless!

As was his:

"Grey and grey and grey and grey. Grey and grey and grey. I can sing a woodlouse...."

Yeah, Bill Bailey's really funny...shame he couldn't be in Series D. Oh well. He can make up for it by appearing in even more episodes in Seires E or something ;).
