<yet more Ready Brek glowing>

That gladdens the heart of a humble author. Particularly after being told off by a (semi-literate) Amazon reviewer for having a dry and boring style...

I've just read that review. He/she doesn't sound like a well educated person and I would bet they've never watched an episode of QI before!

The book has reached No 22 on Amazon. The highest yet.

Can I have a point for trying to be helpful and nice? Please. Just a little one. Go on.

Or indeed for being a poor, broke student?!

Cabs shouldn't get one free though, I'm far more financially deserving - he's a lawyer for goodness sake!

smiley,

There are free books available for those who have a shot at the comps. Give it a go.

I was after a point, not a book. I have bought my very own iridium-plated one already.

Though currently I don't have the kudos of a Stephen Fry signed copy.

Perhaps I could tear the relevant page out of my signed first edition of The Liar that I bought when I went to see SF talk at the Oxford Union on my matriculation day. I could then glue that in. Sounds like a plan.

That's Stephen King beaten - Grisham, Pratchett, Desai: you're next.

The real test is if the QI book can beat the NS book. They are both rather similar.

Desai bites the dust. Closing in on the top ten now.
