Danny Wallace's country, consisting of his flat in Bow and a couple of thousand living rooms, bedrooms etc. Still not officially recognised by the U.N but do we still consider it a country. Has its own constitution, government and official leader, King Danny the first and also own flag and national anthem. Please discuss Lovely's position as a "country" and any citizens please say your opinions. As a citizen of Lovely myself, I do have to say "Hail King Danny" but does anyone else?

I should post a link to a brilliant resource on micronations, or countries that never quite made it:

Footnotes to History

Sadly, "Lovely" has not made it in yet - but there's hundreds more in the same, or a similar, vein.

Lovely is a country that is a flat in London. Apart from being the worlds only completely double-glazed country in the world, its number of citizens at 58,165 means it is the most densly populated country in the world.

Set up by Danny Wallace now King Danny I, Lovely is now trying to get into the UN. All but one of its citizens live outside the country. If you want more information then go to www.citizensrequired.com

If all but one of its citizens live outside the country, then it's not the most densely populated country in the world.

Monaco has a population of 35,000 odd living in an area of 1.49 square kilometres, hence 23,660 p/sqkm. There are 1,000,000 square metres in a square kilometre.

Presuming Danny Wallace has a good sized flat of around 800 sq ft (this is pretty big and equivalent to about 78 sq ms), then Lovely has a population density of 1 p/78 sqm = around 12,820 p/sqkm.

Hence Lovely has only half the population density of Monaco and gets the bronze medal, after Macao but before Taiwan.

Danny will need to have a Lovely friend round to tea.

Lovely territory consists of Danny's flat *and* several thousand embassies.

In April 2006 the www.citizensrequired.com website ceased updating the figures, which by then had reached just over 58,000 Citizens.
Currently the situation is scattered, Citizens have no central gathering point. Some of those who used to post on the BBC forum are using several of their own, mainly http://lovelycountry.proboards75.com/ at present.

I'm trying to find those "lost" 58,000. If you see them say hello and offer them a nice cup of tea.

It doesn't appear here:

https://cia.gov/cia//publications/factbook/index.html

But then neither does Taiwan, they don't want to upset the PRC.
