All those pictures of Londoners jumping on trains to escape the capital for Christmas reminds me of this (which was put together one line at a time on a forum similar to this one):

I'm dreaming of a White City
Just like the ones I Euston-o
Becontree-tops glisten,
And Charlton listens
To hear Chigwell in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a White City
Westferry Christmas card I write
Maida Vale be merry and bright
Archway Aldgate Cockfosters be white!

With these lines in mind, I give you:

Good King Westminster looked out,
On the feast of Neasden...

Away out of danger,
The rules to despise.
Up to Barnard's Castle
To test his tired eyes

The police in Yorkshire
Did look t'other way
While Little Lord Cummings
Was driving away.

What, with the Trumpington Deviation still in play for nearly a month and the blue ball stuck in the green sector while London Commuters are wild*?? I think not!!

Fulwell Shirley - wasn't he the bass guitarist in the 80s techno-folk band Robot Hippie? I remember they got to no28 in the UK charts with their seminal ballad "When will we go to C, 64".

Well, Ewell is just over the border in Surrey, but it does rhyme better...

To make the next one easier perhaps we could have anywhere currently in Tier 4 (which will get even bigger on Boxing Day, of course).
