Don't really know if this is the correct place for this but 'QI stalwart' John Sessions death was recently announced.

I had always hoped he'd return to the series but sadly not to be.

Condolences to all who knew him.

Not sure quite how stalwart he was - I don't think he's been on for quite a while has he? That's alarmingly young to die though (ie three years younger than I am).

I considered him a stalwart due to talent and wit rather than number of appearances.

He used to be the star of 'Whose Line is it Anyway?' John Sessions was always just one of four comedians in any episode, but his inventiveness and performance so dominated the whole thing that it looked like his show. I read somewhere that he was removed from the line-up because the other performers did not like being so upstaged, and it went rapidly downhill from there.

To be brutally honest I always found him a very irritating panellist on QI. He was of course a guy with a phenomenal memory, but it made him take it all far too literally.

The reddit thread on his death turned into a huge "who was more irritating on QI" discussion, that Rory McGrath resoundingly won.

Oh yes Rory McGrath was definitely worse!
