VW part 199 398 500 A is unlike anything else Volkswagen makes.
On average, 6.81 million units of VW part 199 398 500 A come off the production line each year at the firm’s Wolfsburg factory, more than any other part. You won’t find this part on any Volkswagen car. Why? Because VW part 199 398 500 A is a sausage…

A Currybockwurst, to be precise, manufactured by Volkswagen for 45 years. Volkswagen has produced food for its workers on site at the Wolfsburg plant since it opened in 1938 due to the factory’s remote location and the fact that feeding the workers onsite is more cost effective. They started producing Currywurst in 1973 and it is now so popular that it’s sold in local supermarkets and football stadiums and is available to buy in 11 different countries.

The Volkswagen sausage can be found in Volkswagen's parts directory as can other accessories for enjoying this tasty snack, such as a rather nice pair of porcelain Currywurst bowls…

Does it have a built-in cheater device to give falsely low emissions when tested (or was that the accompanying sauerkraut?

My car's satnav was made for a Volkswagen. A couple of times it has lost its signal and started showing a map of Wolfsburg.

It is just as well it did not use the town's original name or I would have had a fit.

The sat nav in my old company car had a couple of funny turns* while I had it. One time, driving up towards Rotherhithe tunnel, stuck in slow moving traffic, it suddenly decided to show me as meandering across a public park at some speed, rather than (as I was in reality) almost stationary on the road.
Another time, I was driving through Sussex (iirc) and as I passed through some small town, it started spouting incoherent gibberish. I thought it was just a temporary loss of signal or somesuch, but on the return journey it did exactly the same thing at the same place. I even turned round and went through it a third time to make sure, and I got something like;

"At the next junction, ksjrngpiqejhvhrpijc."

*intentional pun
