it can be editted out as per, Anneka's Vaginas and I'm sure Stephen Fry's university challenge comment won't make the final cut either, by the way that was possibley one of the funniest things I heard in the 9 shows I managed to get into

well when Anneka's show was recorded she was appearing in the Vagina Monologues so she did take almost every opportunity to mention a variant on vagina in almost every answer hence she didn't play a big part in the final show although in the recording, if my memory serves me correctly, she was quite an active participant

Sidebar: what sort of stupid name is 'the Vagina Monalogues'? The Talking Vaginas! It's sounds like a really crappy comedy porn flick! (not that I know about such things)

Your first suggestion is sort of what it is, and it's very popular. The night I went it was in a biggish theatre, 3,000 or so in the house, of whom 3 were men. Similar to the audience for the Chippendales. Scary, but at least there was no queue to speak of for the gents.

It must also have been quite boring if you spent all your time counting the men.
Are you sure the others were all women?

Sorry Jenny only answered half the question.
Phill Jupitus mentioned something about University Challenge when Stephen Fry stated his sole motive for applying to go to Queens in Cambridge was so that he could appear on University Challenge and when he buzzed in for a question, Bamber Gascgoine would say "FRY QUEENS" Stephen could respond "YES, APPARENTLY HE DOES"

As a random piece of information, my mother was at university the same time Stephen Fry was there.

No, unfortunately. Newham. Or Newnham. Or something.

My son was at Queens'. Note the punctuation - the apostrophe comes at the end - a pitfall for trivia fans. The Oxford college with a similar name is properly called "The Queen's College" (note placement of apostrophe and use of the definite article).

On the matter of apostrophes, the clothing company Lands' End freely admits that their misplaced one is a cock-up:

...a lot of people ask why the apostrophe in Lands' End is in the wrong place. There have been some silly explanations along the way, but the truth is, it was a mistake. It was a typo in our first printed piece, and we couldn't afford to reprint and correct it. In the years since, the misplaced apostrophe has continued to grace our name and our label. And while it has prompted some raised eyebrows among English teachers, it also sets us apart as a company whose continuing concern for what's best for the customer is unmistakably human.

Apologies for the anecdote-spoiling pedantry, but would not the voice (which would not have been Bamber's) have announced Queens'. Fry?

There is a phoney Irish pub in South Kensington called Finnegan's Wake. Poor buggers - at least they tried!

Quite right. Within the past year or two, a contestant called Brown was on Newcastle University's team. He had a quick mind, so we were constantly treated to the sound of "NEWCASTLE - BROWN".
