R is for rest? Reticular? Ringing? Rumble? Trying to find a way to fit this into the 'R' category aside, here's something I find quite interesting:

It's estimated that roughly 10% of people have experienced Exploding Head Syndrome.

The problem isn't as explosive as it sounds, but I think its name is enough to qualify it as a fascinating fact! That being said, I've begun experiencing this and as funny as the term is, the experience is quite horrible.

A rest, of course, is what snookerists and billiardists put their cues on when the cue ball is a long way from the side they want to hit it from.
