6. Primus - John The Fisherman

To continue suze's theme from the "Interesting Covers" thread, can anyone identify the fisherman in the black & white plaid jacket at the start of the video?

Not I, I fear.

7. Chris de Burgh (spoken vocals: Anthony Stewart Head) - Don't pay the Ferryman

Irish/Argentinean singer Chris de Burgh could be really quite good when he wasn't singing tedious ballads about ladies in red. Rupert Giles recites an excerpt from The Tempest from about 2:47.

8. The Frank and Walters - Happy Busman

The Frank and Walters were a fairly bonkers indie band from Cork, and this song is about a bus driver. Dedicated to my dad, who died 21 years ago today.

Ah Crispy Burger as he was known in my youth.

9. Blyth Power - Signalman White

I have met the eponymous signalman at the singer's wedding. Not a particularly good recording I'm afraid.

Found a better one and replaced it.

13. Loretta Lynn - Coal miner's daughter

Contains almost every country cliche in the book. Daddy worked 26 hours a day for very little money, Mommy did the housework and read the Bible, and Ms Lynn manages to rhyme hard with tired. Daddy didn't die when he crashed his truck in a blizzard though, so Ms Lynn must try harder.

14. Big Country - The teacher

Dunfermline's finest, and still one of my favourite 80s bands. This song might be a good candidate for a "The intro is better than the song" list.

They still are actually, though the term bonkers is debatable regarding their more recent output. This is from 2016:

Also they're on tour right now, so keep your ears propped, they might come to a venue near you in the foreseeable.

Agreed on pre-Lady in Red Mr. de Burgh, btw. The Getaway was a perfectly serviceable little album.

15. Jimmy Webb - Wichita Lineman

Yep. He's an old school friend of Primus' Les Claypool.

16. Nirvana - Floyd The Barber
