I discover that the B series started in October 2004, and the C series on 30 September 2005 - I'm entirely happy with that scheduling.

The A series started earlier in September 2003, and had a three week break in December before the series ending Christmas episode. That seems to make much less sense, so I'm sure they won't go back to that pattern. Please.

But then you would miss the new episodes of QI.

Such would be so far beyond the call of duty that we could not possibly ask you to do it. So I'll take dr b's place instead ...

No no, I just wouldn't be able to live with my conscience at the prospect of making anyone else possibly miss a single second of QI

Oh well, there you go. Pressure is mounting on the BBC schedulers :)

Going anywhere nice?

What a daft question! Who books their holidays for somewhere horrible?

Series D Transmission

Well, suze and dr.bob are in luck at least.

The upcoming series is currently scheduled to run on Friday nights at 10pm starting on 29th September and running up till December 15th.

There will also be a Christmas show sometime around the god Mithras's birthday (25th December), but this is not yet scheduled.

For those who are interested, at present we plan to run the programmes in the following order:

1. Danger (Sean Lock, Jimmy Carr, Jo Brand)
2. Discoveries (Vic Reeves, Clive Anderson, Arthur Smith)
3. Dogs (Jeremy Clarkson, Liza Tarbuck, Neil Mullarkey)
4. Dictionaries (Rory Bremner, Phill Jupitus, Ronnie Ancona)
5. Death (Sean Lock, Clive Anderson, Andy Parsons)
6. Drinking (Jimmy Carr, Phill Jupitus, John Sessions)
7. Differences (Julian Clary, Dara O'Briain, Jo Brand)
8. Descendants* (Jonathan Ross, Rich Hall, Phill Jupitus)
9. Doves (David Mitchell, Andy Hamilton, John Sessions)
10. Divination** (Graeme Garden, Johnny Vaughan, Phill Jupitus)
11. Deprivation (Roger McGough, Vic Reeves, Mark Steel)
12. Domesticity (Jo Brand, Jessica Stevenson, Phill Jupitus)
13. Christmas Special (Dara O'Briain, Jo Brand, Rich Hall)

*This is the Children in Need Special, cross-trailed from BBC1.
** Unique show without Alan (who went to the Arsenal game)

Me neither, and I can't wait to see what they do without Alan!

Excellent scheduling, nice people at the BBC!

For dr b's information, we're not going anywhere new and exciting - but definitely somewhere nice. As is our wont, we are in fact going to Vancouver - as the older among my sister's kids are evolving in adulthood and Andy's daughter should be starting university this autumn, it could be the last time that all ten of us get together.

Now that we know when the TV series starts, does that mean that the "D" series talk will be relegated from "QI talk" to the "QI: The BBC TV Series"? I presume that this happened to the B and C series?

There's an episode on my birthday! Dec 15 hint hint. That's a good excuse not to have a party; I don't care for parties, even when they're my own. Yay! And yay to Rory Bremner, David Mitchell, Andy Parsons and Jessica Stevenson. Can't wait.
