Seeing as it is just over a month until September (and the time of year when a lot of new TV shows start their runs) I was wondering if any of the elves know precisely when the D series will start on the BBC?

If not, do you know when you will find out?

Ooh I'd love to know this too - then I know exactly how long I have to wait before I can watch new QI rather than repeats of repeats on UK G2 lol.

Unfortunately, BBC2 always give very short notice of our transmission times (and frequently change their minds).

We'll let you know as soon as we do...

Could someone please mention to the BBC that I'm going to be on holiday in Italy for the first 2 weeks in September. So, if they're going to start showing the D series in september, can someone politely ask them to wait until I get back?

You must be one of those people who have one of these clocks next to their TV which always shows the time as a blinking 00:00.

I have a video but, if they don't announce when the new series is on until after I leave, it's a bit tricky to set it.

My Guess is to record 10:00 BBC2 on Fridays like it was last series (at least it'll give you a strong chance of getting it).

Besides they'll have to make a decision at least 2 weeks before the series airs in order to notify the radio times and such.

that's no good as I am on holiday from 3rd week in September until 4th week in October so they will need to delay transmission until early November which probably means the Christmas special will be broadcast in February...

I'm away from 10-17 October so it would be nice of them to have a week off that week although I guess I could use the VCR is I have to! ;-)

Where are you going for such a long holiday?

Mm, Dr Bob, you could just let me go to Italy in your place. I'd make a sacrifice in the name of QI.

But then you would miss the new episodes of QI.

Such would be so far beyond the call of duty that we could not possibly ask you to do it. So I'll take dr b's place instead ...

(Actually, we are going to be away at the same time as the good doctor anyways - so please nice people at the BBC ...)

Just arrange for any sort of sporting event to occur at the appropriate time and the schedulers will be only too glad to postpone QI.
