I'm getting PMs from people about my reappearance, so I thought I'd save some bandwidth and post a message about it.

Yes, The Management have generously decided to give me one last chance. Some forum members had interceded on my behalf (including one who I would have expected to actively oppose it - something which is not lost on me) and they all have my thanks. It's one of those things that supports the belief that this community is filled with the good people (plus me).

Being banned from this forum is difficult - only a very few have achieved it and when I joined that club I spent some weeks raving about how I didn't deserve to be seen as member. The dawning realisation that actually I did qualify was a sobering experience. Jenny was right to act as she did - if she hadn't I would only have gotten worse. Take it as read that I am not proud of my past behaviour, so I won't be going down that path again.

But people made representations, communications were entered into and finally the Mods voted almost overwhelmingly* to lift my ban. I thank them and I hope to live up to the trust implicit in that decision.

Apart from my jokes, that is. I regard those as exempt, so you'll just have to suffer them.

* 52:48 was described as an overwhelming majority - I understand that the majority in favour of readmitting me wasn't quite that strong, which is understandable, so it was only an "almost overwhelming" majority

Can I say how very pleased I am to see PDR's return as a member of this forum. Whatever differences we may have had, he is certainly one of the most eloquent and knowledgeable voices here.

You can't betray democracy - my majority was within 2% of that achieved by the Leave campaign and so was almost unanimous - so let's have no talk of repeat referenda here please!

Thankyou Guy, but I think I would probably disagree with at least one of those two properties.

Too late now.

Actually come to think of it - the original PRexit mandate was overturned by a second vote...

Hello, PDR! Your banishment had largely passed me by as I've not visited the forums much for the last year or so!

Can't do cake, I'm afraid. I have to keep my BG below 6mmol/l or my doctor will refuse to discuss F1 with me.

But I could do carrot sticks - will that suffice?
