Remember the 'Germany' episode of QI, where they talked about how most Germans watch the British movie Dinner for One every New Year's Eve?

Well turns out Sweden has a similar tradition - with Donald Duck.

Every year on December 24th at 3pm, Sweden's channel TV1 (the Swedish equivalent of BBC1, their main publicly-funded channel) broadcasts the 1958 Disney special From All of Us to All of You - and it regularly gets 40-50% of the national TV audience. (To put that in perspective, the most-watched Christmas broadcast in the UK in 2016 was the Queen's Speech with 8.1 million viewers, an approximate 12% audience share. [1])

The film is a compilation of various Disney short films and movie highlights. It is almost the same every year, but with a few twists - a host presents it live, and usually a segment of the latest Disney film is also inserted into the broadcast.

According to Atlas Obscura in 2017, "Swedes are so compelled by the cartoon that last year during the program, cell data usage fell 28 percent and calls to emergency services dropped 16 percent".
