@Cel. I hate that, when one car is parked so badly it kills another space without actually using it. Many times in London I would see the same thing repated a few times in one run of spaces, so that space a about six cars would only be used by three

Hanging's too good for'em!

@pushups44. Back at you!

Centre of gravity and control authority issues now addressed, it flies very well. Some evidence:

[a clubmate attempted to capture this small and fast-moving target - that he got the aeroplane within the frame at all is surprising!]

Will you have to keep it hidden after Brexit?

Time to mount a camera in that thing!

I found it hard enough to keep that AH64 at Duxford in frame as it did a slow pass, keeping something less than a yard long, moving at speed, in frame is particularly impressive.

Not a good idea. The fallout from "dronaggeddon" has been bad enough for aeromodellers (new fees, registration and a mountain of general bureaucratic crap), but if you add any form of camera (video, still, recording or streaming) to a model the CAA classify it as a "Small Unmanned Surveillance Aircraft" and hit you with even more regulations.

So mine will remain camera-free.

No, but if I took it into Germany it would risk being confiscated. They don't allow swastikas on anything - even scale models. It caused severe embarrassment when Germany hosted the world Scale Championships for RC models...

But I'm hoping that a few strafing runs will scare the shit out of the moles who are wrecking our runway!

I cheated. You may have noticed these photos are all different sizes. That's because they are actually small sections cropped out of the actual photos Doug took!

Prohibited by the 1st/2nd Commandment (depending on which sect did the counting).

Is it subject to similar licensing requirements to flying drones?

Yes and no.

Yes it is, but members of certain nationally-accredited bodies do their registration through those bodies at reduced cost, and those of us who hold certain competence certificates get exempted from the mandatory on-line "safety test". We are subject to the same requirement to have registration markings, but we are allowed to put them internally in areas that can be accessed without tools (eg inside battery hatches).

My cousin from NZ has moved back to the UK and lives near Swansea with his new partner and her 4 children. They came over today and Little Brother, Texan s-in-l and I met them for a meal. First time we've met the new lady and kids and I sincerely hope it won't be the last.
Nice to meet some youngsters who are (a) vaguely "family", (b) not too far away to see in a day trip and (c) really pleasant.
