Quidditch is played by muggles.
The sport is a particularly popular in the US. In 2007 United States Quidditch Association (previously named the Intercollegiate Quidditch Association), was founded to regulate quidditch in the United States and internationally, and there is a Quidditch Premier League.
The sport has spread to more than 25 countries and includes multiple international tournaments, including a World Cup.
A team consists of 7 – 21 players. The game is played on foot, using one hand to hold a broom between the legs with the other manipulating the ball. The games are known to get quite competitive. The pitch is 55m by 33 m with hoops at either end and points are scored by throwing a ball through hoops and catching the ‘snitch’ – a tennis ball in a long sock. The snitch attached to an impartial official and the game end when the snitch is caught.
There are 4 positions in Quidditch: Chasers, keepers, beaters, and seekers. All players carry a broomstick which doubles as a handicap. Players ride a variety of objects considered to be brooms depending on level of seriousness. Many players play with metre lengths of PVC pipes.

Both, according to the source. I suspect it was something called butterbeer, which is apparently also a thing...

That's the general playing style, but you're free to hold the ball or broom with as many, or as few, hands as you like.

It's also a full-contact sport, but with one-handed tackles.

As described in one of the articles linked, it's a sport that's promoted on-field gender equality (or thereabouts) from the get-go. The specific rule has evolved over the years, but it currently stands that out of the 6 or 7 players on field, there can be no more than 4 who identify as the same gender. This acknowledges non-binary players and respects gender identity.
