I have visions of vegans and vegetarians all around the country sending up a cheer! Welcome nettswalsh.

I still steer clear of it for 2 reasons:

1. compared to Murphy's, it tastes as though the brewery took it straight out of the Liffey; and
2. it used to make my nose bleed.

Was number 2. because of the fights you got into after drinking it? :-D

It also turns yer poo black. It tastes like shit to me, or at least how I imagine shit would taste, I too prefer Murphy's, or Oatmeal Stout.

No, I could never get that much down my neck before the nosebleed started. Half a pint would do it.

Not so much of a problem since the cauterisation, which essentially consists of having a heated soldering iron up your nostril.

Got that T shirt, you know the one covered in snot n blood! Had both my nostrils done as a teenager, nosebleeds were getting ridiculous and very messy, never had an issue since.

I do drink Guinness and Murphy's. I prefer the latter as it's smoother, although it's not as readily available in pubs.

I had a nosebleed and had to leave the room for 20 minutes halfway through my Maths "O"-level. I got a grade 3 (B nowadays?), so I reckon the examiner took pity on the kid who left a large splash of blood on the answer paper.

Either that, or was terrified and took the sight of real blood on the paper as a threat of what might happen if he marked it too severely.
