Al-Qahir in Arabic means the forceful, the victorious, the mighty....

Arabic for Mars is Al-Marrikh.
Arabic for planet is Kowkab.

some say that in Arabic, the planet is called Al Kowkab Al Qahir, which means the mighty planet.

some of the theories about where the name of Cairo (Al-Qahira) came from, suggests that it was named after this "title" of the planet.

in short, al Qahir is not Arabic form Mars, that wasn't precise :)

but it made me search and know for the first time ever that Mars is called Al Kowkab Al Qahir ;)
