There is mention of a short thoroughfare in Indiana which is designated as a highway under some American definition of that term, but the writer has disqualified it from the present discussion because its surname is "Road".
Well, Mattau did write "the shortest Highway" rather than "the shortest highway", in which case Chandler Highway is definitely not the shortest, as suze has shown. Can anyone beat The Highway, Stanmore?
How about Highway 243 in Wisconsin, at 1/3 of a mile?
