There's an error on http://qi.com/infocloud/bees, specifically the name of the journal referenced in the 'Bees and Human Tears' section. It says "Journal of the Kansas Etymological Society"... that should be "Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society" |

If they don't know the difference between "etymology" and "entomology", then clearly they don't know any etymology! |

Well someone doesn't know their etymology, because adambrown is entirely correct.
The paper referred to is Bänziger, H, Boongird, S, Sukumalanand, P, and Bänziger, S (2009). "Bees (Hymenoptera: Apidae) that drink human tears", Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society, 82 (2), pp. 135-150.
The abstract can be seen here. Much as one of the authors is German, all four of them are based in Thailand. It appears that the Journal of the Kansas Entomological Society is a more important publication in its field than its name might suggest, and is not to be compared with Bedfordshire Bug Club News. |
