Sadly we saw the deeply wonderful Sandi put milk in first in tea!
Quelle Horreur!!
At about 26/27 mins on QI, 41 mins QIXL.

As everybody, who is anybody, knows, being MIFFY is so non-U.

Perhaps being Scandinavian she wouldn't know, but "the people" she said she has to do it for her really should have warned her?!

'Ere Ooop North we like our "Brew" done proper!

(Edited to correct spelling of Sandy to Sandi)

Welcome gvnmcknz :-)

Maybe she's used to having her tea in bone china cups? At any rate, I was always told that was the reason to put milk in first. As a Yorkshirewoman, I know that is (of course) sick and wrong.

I was always taught that milk in first was the way to go. Some years ago I made a comparison and frankly I could not detect any difference in taste whatsoever.

Milk in first when making a pot, t'other way round when making a single cup. Can't usually tell the diff.

When in the UK, I always ordered black tea, as the milky version was alway way too milky to my taste. Just a few drops would do me fine, thank you.
And also (to my Continantal tastebuds) the tea was far too strong. 4-5 teabags in a pot are no exception. For successive pots, the same bags would be used so the tea bacame weaker and lost its flavour.
Strange folk, those Brits.

Living as a Cloggie again, I drink my tea black, with just a sweetener.

I like a really strong brew with just a drop of milk so I always put the milk in last because I think it's easier to get the right amount.
