Anna said "Robert Guy Newton", famous throughout the English (and pirate) speaking world for playing Long John Silver, and "standardising" the pirate accent (aarrr, me hearties etc.) appeared in The Pirates of Penzance.
No. He was born in Dorset and went to school in Penzance.

There were quite a few other errors in this podcast, but this one bugged me the most.

Anna claims the @ is known as "the sign of the meow" in Norway, which I have never heard. I can't say no one in Norway calls it that, but the common name is krĝll-alfa, curly-alpha.
