Enemy in Ancient Greek

In Ancient Greek there are two different words for enemy.
Ἐχθρός (echthros) which means personal enemy and πολεμιοι (polemioi) which means enemy in war.

Interesting distinction! I'm assuming (without looking up the etymology) that polemioi is somehow related to polemic?

Polemioi comes from the Greek Polemos which means war. The word polemic actually stems from the latter as far as I'm aware
