Interesting facts on birds. Coming from New Zealand this is my area. New Zealand was the home to:

A 3.6 metre tall flightless bird - the Moa (now extinct)

The largest Eagle known to exist - the Haast Eagle (now extinct)

And is still home to:

The only alpine parrot in the world, and possibly the most intelligent bird in the world - the Kea

The heaviest (and possibly most unintelligent parrot in the world) - the Kakapo

The only animal I can find that has two sets of vocal cords and can use them at the same time - the Tui

Possibly the bravest bird in the world - the New Zealand Falcon. The females are only about 450g and the males are only about half the size size of the females. There are stories of them taking on planes to protect there young.

....enough about NZ birds. I actually want to find out about other birds in the world, what they can do and what they have been used for.

Another interesting story about the NZ Falcon.

There are a number of NZ vineyards with resident Falcons. They make a great job of eliminating anything that will eat grapes. Usually one one pair will be enough for an entire vineyard.

I wonder if this is used anywhere else.

I found another story from France where they are using Eagles to hunt Drones.

.....and yes.....the Eagles win.
