Despite its name, the October revolution actually happened on 7 of November according to the (Gregorian Calander). The anniversary of the October Revolution was, therefore, made the official national day of the Soviet Union from 1918 onward and the holiday is still celebrated and recognised as a public holiday in several countries including Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and the breakaway territory of Transnistria.
