I'm surprised custard was not mentioned as an example of a non-Newtonian fluid commonly found in homes. Non-Newtonian fluids were first mentioned in an episode in Series C, where Stephen Fry asked: "Could Jesus walk on custard?" There was also a brief footage of Braniac's Jon Tickle walking on a swimming pool filled with custard.

And non-Newtonian fluids cropped up again in Series I, where Stephen made "wavy green people" out of water and corn flour on a loudspeaker

Not the best episode, sometimes Toksvig is too dowdy to deal with Fry'ish remarks of comedians, but this type of application of such a fluid was new. Somewhere between walking and the Mythbusters trying to use it to stop a bullet.

Wikipedia wrote:
this mixture's properties as a non-Newtonian liquid might allow it to stop a bullet. However, 6 thin bags full of the liquid failed to stop the bullet from a Glock pistol.

I think Sandi did mention custard very briefly in passing without elaborating.
