Slowly but surely, your events are moving south. As I live next to the Solent, it may take a while til you mention something I might be able to get to.

;)

LOL, yes, very true ... but while researching some Scottish stuff I've come across these events on my searches ... (Plus I'm going to the St Magnus Festival ... That'll be fun ... always is!!!)

Maybe I'll find some more Southern events soon :)

But ...............Why don't you start posting things from the Solent upwards and we'll meet somewhere by Hadrian's Wall, and cover all events in the UK? LOL

*BTW the Solent is a lovely part of the UK* :)

Always fun ...
lots to see and do ... mad locals to get drunk with ... interesting places to visit ... different and sometimes very unusual acts/musicians to see

You should make a point of going one year

Ooohh, I'm going to be up home about that time!

As the North East seems to be well represented, the Stoney Folk Festival
is in July. It will feature the world paper and comb championships and the unique Aquaceilidh in the outdoor pool. Last year Kate Rusby, Aly Bain, Phil Cunningham, Wolfstone and the African Wellyboot Dancers all performed.

Why so sad Tas? ... There are plenty of fests down south too

The 'Jocks' have many fest's because we love standing around in fields, covered in mud, getting slightly 'squiffy' (well, erm, ... very drunk), jumping around to lots of loud music ... and getting 'pished' on (cause it's the law for it to 'always be raining' during festival season)

:)

I went to Wickerman a few years ago, and it was awesome. They played the film in the solar cinema, then on the last night burnt the Wicker man and had fire dancers. Reggae dance stage was great and headliners were the Levellers and the Buzzcocks.
