Surely there must be endless scope for material about Octavian:

Octauis Iulius Caesar, after adoption named Gaius Iulius Caesar Octauianus, the man whom the Romans did not dare to call "Rex" but to whom they entrusted the whole Roman Empire and showered with honours, and the last who proved worthy of that trust and those honours (and of course the greatest honour is to be a lead role in two Shakespeare plays).

Greco-Roman civilisation had reached such a pitch that we know exactly what he looked like from numerous sculptures and descriptions, while we have no real likenesses of kings of a thousand years later.

So they called him Augustus instead. Worth mentioning so more people know who you're talking about.

Point of pedantry, what a statue of someone who could have you thrown to lions* if he didn't like it looks like, hardly constitutes "proof".

*awaits klaxon, but he could certainly have made your life unpleasant.

Reminds me of a program I saw about Alexander the Great; a stone carving of him and his dad was found above the door of an ancient house. Does anybody remember?

Just look at Suetonius for lots of weird material on Augustus/Octavian you have his sex life, weird habits and personal appearance and is a quick read as quick as "Boiled Asparagus".

Or the fact that after retiring as emperor of Rome he took a contract job as Prince of Sky City, and then helped his buddy Henry by taking the job of Duke of Essex in a little dust-up with johnie frenchman.
