Mattis finally speaks up.

Seems the threatened use of troops on American streets was the final straw.

Videos of trump this weekend point to him being in bad health. He was shown being unable to tilt a glass of water to drink, had to use a second hand. Then afterwards he hobbled down a gentle slope slowly in a strange fashion. Looks like his right side is physically weak, which points to a stroke of some kind, albeit minor.

A close-up photo of his shoes shows that he wears lifts that are maybe as much as 2-3", which would make walking downhill harder.

For a man that size to be wearing lifts is surely a sign of a dangerously fragile ego.

Does he have a meeting with Justin Trudeau coming up?

Mr Trudeau stands 6'2", and we may take this figure as correct because it is the figure that is given on his boxing licence. It will have been properly measured by a doctor.

If you ask the White House press office the question, it will inform you that President Trump stands 6'3". Which is odd, because he is demonstrably about 1.5" shorter than Mr Trudeau.

Vanity. Same with his orange skin.

I haven't seen much comment so I'm guessing I must have dreamed it - I could have sworn I heard a brief news item that said Trump had placed sanctions against named members of the ICC - I mean, what, seriously?!?!? I must have misheard it.

ICC to me means International Cricket Council. I wondered what they had done to upset him.

Probably because they refuse to heart salute the US flag.

So, even without the lifts, he is at least 4 inches taller than me, possibly 5. Why is he the one pretending to be taller?

Vanity, thy name is Trump.

Bolton revealing that he's an even bigger self centred shit than I thought he was, whilst also confirming how big a self centred shit his former boss is.

There was an interesting discussion on the colonial section of the internal chat group of my employer's IT system this afternoon which (sadly) has now been deleted because political discussions of any kind are banned on those groups.

Anyway - it started with some people suggesting that there is now a very real possibility that Trump won't achieve a second term because his first term depended on winning 12% of Obama's votes (people who previously voted for Obama, obvs), and those people were now very unlikely to vote for him again.

But that wasn't the interesting bit. The discussion then moved on to whether, after losing, Trump would actually accept the result or start screaming about fraud and fake votes. Several of the participants were of the view that he'd refuse to accept it, refuse to work with the president elect's team and might even refuse to move out of the white house.

That would be amusing to watch...

From this side of the pond, certainly. Whether Jenny and Efros (and 319 million other people) would find it quite so amusing is debatable.
