Cheers Filo, I'm now marginally more informed.

The one that always annoys me:
Pacific is an ocean taking up a large proportion of the planet
Specific is the word you're looking for when you want to clearly define which object you're referring to.

True, but rather than start arguments I generally try to have pacific discussions on that one.

You poor, poor old people. However did you cope?

We didn't. We had servants to do the coping for us while we took well-needed breaks in Verbiers, Monacco and the Maldives.

That makes sense. And here I am without a servant in sight and completely lacking a ticket to the Maldives.
I'll just go and sit in a corner to dwell on that

Well there are no shortcuts on the long, hard road to success.

But if your dad's rich there's often a limo service...

Well my dad was inconsiderate enough to have a hear attack so we spent his riches on making sure he didn't die.

I guess I'll just have to get walking then won't I? Though if I pack my towel I might be able to hitch a ride.

I've had one of those days, where I have had to write a report that includes some work that I have done in the office that is used by the assistant heads.

There are two of them, one office the apostrophe was getting very giddy with where it should belong.
I settled on the, obviopusly, correct assistant heads' office after an argument with the word processing tool provided by the lovely Mr Gates.

While I applaud your use of the apostrophe, a little judicious punctuation of this sentence would have made a big difference. i was getting quite giddy myself trying to fathom it.

But that's Muphry's Law striking yet again in this thread.
