Hi guys.

Do you think if we started a petition to get QI episodes released on DVD and all put our names down it might get noticed and someone would decide to release them. Or is people power not that effective.

Just a thought as there seem to be loads of topics and posts about buying them.

Would be very cool. I have looked aroun but never found them. Seeing as the BBC release just about every other show they ever produce on DVD I just don't get why QI is different.

All comments welcome.

I totally agree. I tried to buy QI DVDs at Christmas and was very disappointed to discover they don't exist (well, except for people selling dodgy CDs of downloaded episodes on eBay, which I guess isn't all that legal?). :(

Anyway, I'd definitely buy QI DVDs if they were available.

People power is definitely helpful. A lot of us contributed to the petition to get ABOFAL released on DVD, so you never know, it could work with this too. I definitely think it should have all the out-takes on it.

It would be best to make the petition more formal (requiring signatures) and get the support of the producers (who I am sure would like to see the series go onto DVD).

Grizzly - Do you have any ideas how we would get support from the appripriate people.

I like the idea of making the petition more formal.

Keeps the replys coming

How would we all sign it if it were handwritten? We're scattered across the country (and in some cases, beyond).

Apparently one of the producers for QI is or was called Phil Clarke. John Mitchinson who is mentioned on this website is another producer and Kaite Taylor is or was the executive producer for the BBC.

We should start leaning on them.

Or indeed lots of us. I will if you will.

Perhaps we should decide on what to say first, and then all say it.

Good idea school swot. What do you think we should say.

Anyone else as well acutally. What would be the best thing to say ???

I think it would be a very good idea to mention this forum as it shows a good number of people discussing the issue who might be potential customers.

Something polite, clear and to the point, first and foremost. And maybe with few long and/or esoteric words, just to show how clever we all are. Important: we mustn't forget to mention outtakes!

I think that there are some things that we could mention in order to persuade them to do something.

1) There are 1200 people on this forum which shows a dediacted fanbase for QI.

2) I could mention that I have built a QI fan website which 500 people have looked at. Also Laidbacklazyman has created a website which I'm sure has had a good number of viewings.

3) I could point out that I am a big enough fan that I went to a QI
recording as I'm sure some others on here have.

4) We could point out that other BBC DVDs, Videos and Books have been released and done very well including quiz shows like Have I Got News For You.
