I also wish to raise a somewhat ironic point about Faunabeheer. The translation given by Stephen Fry, namely management, doesn't quite cover it. Most importantly it doesn't cover the ironic part.

Anyway here is dictionary.com's definition of the type of management mentioned:

3. the person or persons controlling and directing the affairs of a business, institution, etc.: The store is under new management.

Link: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/management

Now I know dictionary.com isn't the world's best or even reliable source of information but as far as my argument goes this does suffice.

So let's move on, Van Dale which is THE Dutch dictionary lists beheer as follows:

1 het beheren van, de zorg en verantwoording voor eigendommen van derden

http://www.vandale.nl/opzoeken/woordenboek/?zoekwoord=beheer

First of all the interesting bit is after the comma obviously. Second of all a somewhat liberal but accurate nonetheless translation would be: The care and responsibility of property belonging to a third party.

And there lies the irony, the man tasked with the care of animals shot a member of an endangered species. That's like Greenpeace harpooning whales in a sense.
