Wikipedia is claiming (without a source) that the Lette/Noble/Perkins episode was "Ladies and Gentleman".

No mention of the themes for Episode 8 and 9 yet. Does anyone have any idea?

Why is Jack Whitehall still being booked (he's on tonight's recording)? Both of his previous appearances have been utterly woeful - a complete lack of interest in the subject at hand, any amusing anecdotes or indeed anything other than unfunny and dated jokes such as jabs at Tara Palmer-Tomkinson.

Unfunny and dated? You forgot to mention rude and offensive.

EDIT: Wait, Jack Whitehall? I like him (I think). It's Jack Dee I want to strangle with a dirty pantyhose.

Everyone has a difference sense of humour. What you might find unfunny and woeful, others may appreciate. No show is going to be built around the personal preferences of an individual, so there are always going to be shows and guests that individuals do not consider up to their personal standards.

Seems Dara's not around for another series as he confirmed on Twitter last night. Very odd who keeps vanishing from the show's roster of regulars.

That's a shame. Dara is always good value.

That's Dara, Sean, Rich Hall and Rob Brydon among the used-to-be regulars who no longer get booked -- whether from their own choice or not.

On the other hand, Jeremy Clarkson is back yet again.

I would describe Clarkson as being semi-regular. He normally only appears once a series.

Wikipedia states that the Ancona/Carr/Mitchell episode was "Lumped", and last night's episodes were "Love" and "Lies" - do we have more reliable sources for these?

...which is quite enough for my liking.

You say there is an episode about lies, but how do we know that is true?

And Clive Anderson (formerly 2x a series), Andy Hamilton (1x a series) and John Sessions.

Dara's absence is the one I find the most baffling. He's clearly up for it, he's very popular and he fits the show's environment as well as anyone.

Hall and Brydon I can see having other projects and commitments; as much as I like them, Anderson, Sessions and Hamilton could be regarded as skewing "too old" or "not enough to the young crowd"; and Sean Lock's remarks a while ago about panel shows other than his may have been bridge-burning.

But Dara's absence makes no sense. Unless there was an interpersonal issue somewhere along the line (dubious) or Dara costs more to have as a panelist, one would think QI would be desperate to keep him coming back. Very odd.

He may be busy, of course. I understand that, as well as being a successful stand-up comedian, he hosts a panel show of his own and a science-based show as well....

Tbh, I think over time QI and Dara have grown apart because while he has become more focused on science over the past few years, QI has has become more focused on comedy (to its detriment, imho). Hence I guess he feels it's not quite for him anymore. I felt that was in the air when I was talking to him last summer (YAY! Irish namedrop!) and he seemed quite detached about it. Shame, I agree...

:-)
