Well, I think it's a true statement. Since he's not playing, I call on zomgmouse to adjudicate.

Not so fast - I looked at that. Was it the letter g that was the problem - really? I could also not send any other characters.

I never said it was. I simply said that the first connection could not transmit the letter G.

Just thought that you three players might like to know I am following ('reading' would be a more accurate word) this thread. Just so you don't think you are on your own. ;)

OK thanks. Zomgmouse can now come back in (and of course anyone else who wants to). The next subject is transport.

The first motorway built in Great Britain was the M1.

According to TFL the average tube train speed: 14km per hour/10mph!!

(BTW Windows XP is still supported by M$)

Guide Bridge station, east of Manchester on the Stockport-Stalybridge line, has a service of only one train a week.

Ah, the joy of timezones. You get knocked out and pulled back in while sleeping! Brilliant.

Anyway: the only functioning grand union junction in Australia is about ten minutes from my house.

Objection. How can anyone else playing this game possibly be expected to know where your house is?

I've found the junction, which is here. If I say it's true, you can claim that your house is more than ten minutes away. If it goes unchallenged, you can claim that your house is nearer.

I didn't say so explicitly in the rules, but I think it's a given that all facts should be independently verifiable.

Yeah, you're right. Feel free to discard that statement. It was true, by the way.

Boeings are so called because of the sound they make when they hit the ground.

Between 1962 and 1992, there were no working trams in Great Britain.

To encourage tourism TFL will be changing all bus and tube fares to the new international currency. From August 1st all fares will only be payable in Bitcoins.
