I thought the BBC version of Marvin was much better. The film version was too cute.
I wonder if the big round head has something to do with having a "brain the size of a planet".

I like all versions. I do like the vorgon destoyers in the movie much better. Also the guy who played Zaphod.

I like everything in the film abd I can't help liking Marvin more there because of the cuteness.

Hmm, not many of those logos were 'friendly'... except maybe the last one. But certainly not that flashing one! That would make you more likely to panic, I'd think.

When it comes to 'Don't Panic' we must take our hats off to the master.

I have a vague recollection of seeing the original Marvin stored in the backround of the new film..

I think he's in the queue when they're trying to get the form stamped or whatever it is they want the Vogons to do.

Yes, that was one of the best bits of the film, seeing the original Marvin.

After all, he's a manically depressed, super-intelligent robot. He's not supposed to be cute!

Why can't he be both?

I saw the film's Marvin 'costume' at the London Science Museum. It was huge. So were the Vogons, really, you don't realise the full extent of their largeness until you see them in person. You could have squashed about 3 whole people into Marvin's body (2 in the head alone).

I always thought Clive Dunn was rather tedious in Dads Army, especially compared to other members of the cast who played their parts so well.
It remains one of the masterpieces of British comedy of course.

Dr Bob this piece of detritus was a Disney product, Marvin has to be marketable. Having bought the DVD it reminds me of a radio play & series of books by DN Adams but without the jokes.

The second one disappears after a while seemingly even on a link. Shame, that was a good one. You can still see it for the moment at the top of page 2 of

It's the drawing.

Don't beleive those who say you're a braindead waster. You know everthing that anyone alone in the galaxy should.
