5. Which comic-book character, as originally depicted, was once described as "Captain America with cobwebs"?

It's not that.

Hint: All the answers are already in the correct order (so there's no need to rearrange them).

Well I think I've got the theme now - countries or landmasses through which the Prime Meridian passes, from north to south. However with number 1 there are so many possibilities that I can't see how it's possible to guess the correct one, and I'm not too sure about the phrasing of some of the others:

1. Which part of the United Kingdom borders England to the west?
2. Who wrote the novel Fair Stands the Wind for France?
3. Which musical features the song The Rain in Spain?
4. Hippo Regius, in modern-day Algeria, was the seat of which influential bishop of the early Christian church?
5. What was the nickname of Mamoudou Gassama, the migrant from Mali who rescued a small boy dangling from a balcony in Paris?
6. In what year was Upper Volta renamed to Burkina Faso?
7. Which former Premiership footballer is Togo's all-time top goalscorer?
8. Kofi Annan, a diplomat from Ghana, held which post in the United Nations from 1997 to 2006?
9. Who wrote the music for the 1947 film Scott of the Antarctic, which later inspired his orchestral work Sinfonia Antartica?

Bingo! You got everything except the first one, in which you got the wrong keyword.

Well the Prime Meridian certainly passes through the United Kingdom, though I suppose the keyword could be "England" instead.

Again, with "Wales" as the answer there are so many possibilities that I think it's impossible to formulate a definitive question, unless you were thinking of something along these lines:

1. Which national football team was managed by Mike England during the 1980s?

Bravo! That's the one! (Except that he was the Welsh manager, not player, in that decade.) You got everything, well done.

Oops, sorry - corrected it now.

I think I've got a theme for a new one, but it'll take me a little while to work out the clues.

Nope. I think this is quite a hard one, so I'll give you an extra clue: the Police might be interested.

F. In what film does Natalie Portman portray the wife of assassinated US President John F. Kennedy?

No, sorry - this is a musical reference rather than a cinematic one.

I think this is an unusually tough one, so I'll start you off with the question for K:

What instrument is the jazz musician Louis Armstrong noted for playing?
