Why would a Dutch person find Darth Vader loveable?

A: Because Vader is dutch for 'father', as well as 'a Catholic padre', and even 'God' when used as the first person in the Holy Trinity.

To a Dutchman's ears, therefore, Darth Vader becomes 'Darth Father', 'Darth Daddy' or 'Darth God'. Not particularly frightening, even if you are Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith, the scourge of the Jedi, and a master of the dark side of the Force.

Quote:
In a 2005 interview, George Lucas was asked the origins of the name "Darth Vader", and replied: "Darth is a variation of dark. And Vader is a variation of father. So it's basically Dark Father." (Rolling Stone, June 2, 2005). "Vader" is the Dutch word for "father", and the German word for "father" (Vater) is similar. However, in the earliest scripts for Star Wars, the name "Darth Vader" was given to a normal Imperial general. Judging by the origin of the other Sith names, Vader may also possibly be a derivative of the word "invader." In the movie's novelization Darth Sidious conjures the name from the Dark Sideó"Darth Vader" is supposed to mean him, supposedly a nod to his status as the Chosen One. (In A New Hope, Obi-Wan refers to him as "Darth", implying that at that point in the series, Darth Vader was a personal name rather than a Sith title.)

Darth Vadar was played in the first 3 films by former Green Cross Code campaigner David Prowse.

Like Vadar, Prowse spent some of his life as part man, part metal.

The 6 foot 7 Bristol born giant - whose voice was replaced by James Earl Jones in the films - wore a calliper from his groin to his ankle till the age of 15 to counteract a suspected case of T.B.

Fortunately, he was misdiagnosed, the callipers came off and he managed to become one of Britain's top bodybuilders, British Heavyweight Weightlifting Champion, one of the world's foremost Highland Games athletes and holder of many British heavyweight weightlifting records.

Oh, and Darth Daddy.

This wouldn't really work as a question because 'Vader' as in father is pronounced differently to Darth Vader.
