I've known that dogs dream for decades just from watching my dog when he was asleep - he'd be sleep-running and sleep-barking in a subdued way, 'chasing rabbits' as we'd call it. Sometimes he'd wake up and be clearly confused that he wasn't in the place and/or circumstance he'd been dreaming about. After a moment or two he'd do the dog equivalent of a shrug and get on with waking stuff. To now know that dogs are capable of understanding the concept of dreams is pretty amazing.

The 'ouch' bit is why I love dogs so much - you don't get physically hurt in dreams (by which I mean humans don't experience imaginary physical pain that I'm aware of) but you do or can experience emotional pain and it seems pretty likely that that's the ouch Bunny means.

Is that guilt? Is this dog feeling remorse for something she did or was reprimanded for in a dream? Is she wrestling with the question of whether if we dream it then is that what we're really like in just the way everybody else does? I'm not sure dogs are ready for the balm of Jungian psychoanalysis yet - let's face it lots of humans aren't.

Awwwww.

Put me in mind of this poor pooch who became awake after he crashed into a wall.

Bunny uses "ouch" to refer to various unpleasant things apart from actual pain, especially loud noises. But she also has some emotional vocabulary, including "concerned" (which broadly covers the sadness-fear range).

I can't believe she's able to imagine problems she's never experienced. As far as I know, her worst physical pains have been a burr in her foot and an ear infection. She's not going to dream about something like a broken leg because she doesn't know legs can break.

When she was talking about her dream, she was looking at the puppy Otter on the sofa. I bet she dreamed about the two of them playing together. Otter is still new to the family and Bunny is still working through it all. They were playing and he nipped her? There was a loud noise?

Previous dreams Bunny has reported were "stranger animal", "dog, cat, animal", "sound [and] smell", and very recently (during a hot dry spell) "water rain".

I've seen friends dogs do this too, we're watching tv, dog asleep on the couch or floor, then suddenly the rear leg twitches/moves.

I see it to an extent too with my cat though not as much.

(no dream report from me today due to a sleepless night from cold winds and draughts)

Towards the end of a a bizarre and pointless dream, the concept of naked ice skating intruded itself on my consciousness. Yes, it is a Thing on the Internet......

I was in a house, in the laundry when I realised yellow stuff was coming from the back of the washing machine.

I then realised that a tree had been chopped down outside and the wood was coming out from the other rooms, all had to be cleaned up.

A fellow came to borrow a shaver, and we admired the stained glass like design on the outside of the house.

I never thought I would have to google "naked ice skating" but I did.

Dream 1:
I was waiting for a bus? just before a busy junction station in my area, when a historical train came along on a tour. I got on, thinking I could just get out at the station, only realising once I was on, that it would be parked in the yard and not going to the platform.

The train bypassed the station and parked in a turning lane of the road.
I was able to get out and then saw a nice arrangement of leaves under a tree.

Dream 2:
I was at a clubhouse, and had two bottles in my bag. I then talked to people on the sand and found little owl ornaments partly buried.
The others wondered if they were part of a display facing the windows, but I didn't know.

Then we set off walking to class, along a busy highway. I crossed over at one point, then realised I had to cross back, the changes to the road layout were confusing.

I met up with my friend's mother and as we were walking along, she asked how I was, and I said not the best.

We entered a room at the retirement village, there was a woman already at a sewing machine or loom, we went to another room and I sat next to my friend's mother.

I was going to book in via email but had forgotten, took a $10 note out of my purse to pay the tutor.
Then others started arriving.

For some reason, my subconscious decided to taunt me with the idea that SWSOIWLTB was now dating, if not actually cohabiting, with DJ Norman Cook (?????) and was in the process of installing a dancing pole in the bathroom to further spice up the relationship........

What the ever-loving F*CK this means is beyond me.

This one felt so real that I felt like I'd lost my phone. Was relieved to wake up....

I was at a class setting, and had plugged the phone in to charge. Later on I go to retrieve it and it's not there, I see the white cable being used by the students for something else.

Then a few grey/black bits come away in my hand. I ask the students where my phone is - they don't know. The tutor standing nearby says she can't help with this sort of thing.

It's funny how addictive phones are now! I accidentally left mine at home one day last week when I was going out for the day with a friend. I felt weird and lost without it all day.

And what I was aware of in the dream, too, was that I've only got a new phone in May/June, and would be upset if I lost it in the manner described above.

This dream: My dad had ironed a whole lot of bedsheets etc and put them folded up, on the bed.
He'd left an old fan plugged into a power point, I unplugged it and then asked if power points should 'push right in' as in melting.

Dream 1:

At a church service, there's a leak in the roof. 'April showers' I say.

Then someone walks in holding a lantern, and the candle light goes out.
Everyone gets a go at lighting it. There's a woman who doesn't know how to light a match from an already lit candle.

Dream 2:

An older man who hadn't played piano for awhile wrote out a tune of about five, six pages long.
I joined him on violin, but my bow needed fixing and then I would be reciting a poem on the war.

Several bizarre dreams.

1) I was trying to cut down several pieces of wood I don't own with a power saw I don't own.

2) A vision of Sherlock Holmes and Irene Adler having a VERY much closer relationship than is described in canon.

3) I had travelled up to London and was trying to get home by train. I went to Paddington station, which looked nothing like it does in reality. On the journey to the station, there was much upheaval because someone had spilt a bottle of isopropyl alcohol, which appeared to be dissolving concrete at an alarming rate, requiring the presence of a whole bunch of hazardous waste specialists. At the station I could find no ticket machines, nor anyone who could help.
