With the recent plethora of commercial merchandise sporting this motto this seems worth mentioning... Interestingly enough the original posters displaying the slogan were never seen by the public at any point in the war. The motto was to be the third propaganda poster in a line of morale boosting posters produced by the Ministry of Information and was intended to be issued in case Britain were to be invaded by Germany. The posters then were destroyed at the end of WWII. There are a few surviving posters though, rediscovered in the 2000's, not least by the BBC's Antiques Roadshow. Since the copyright on art created by the UK government expires after 50 years the image is now public domain and also spawned countless parody slogans. Oh, and the original motto is also popular in Germany.

Okay, bring it on guys, but DON'T mention the war. Unless you are Sean Lock and don't care. ;D

It is said (on Popbitch, so it may well not be true) that David Cornwell, the renowned author of spy fiction, has a poster that reads "Keep Calm and le Carre on".

As I was checking in to my flight I was told that I couldn't take my bag of rotting flesh aboard the plane.

Apparently they have a policy against carrion luggage.
