I'm a bit grumpy that he's going to be allowed to have Christmas at home, even if he is on house arrest. I do hope someone lets Santa know so he doesn't get shot as he comes down the chimney.
🎅🔫😱

Well there's always this option...

You don't want to be going to the toilet when Oscar's anywhere near...

The Supreme Court of Appeal has changed Oscar's conviction from culpable homicide to murder, and sent the case back to the trial court for re-sentencing. A conviction for murder carries a fifteen year minimum sentence, so one must assume he will be back in jail at some point.

Last Friday, the Supreme Court of Appeal increased Oscarís sentence.

Quote:
On Friday morning, Justice Legoabe Willie Seriti increased Pistorius's sentence from six years to 13 years and five months in prison for the 2013 murder.

Seriti said Pistorius should have been sentenced to 15 years, but the SCA took into account the time he had already served.

In the judgment handed down, Seriti said Pistorius had offered no explanation for having fired the fatal shots through the door of his toilet.

After he had perused the High Court sentence, Sereti said he found that it had "overemphasised" Pistorius' personal circumstances and misdirected itself in its assessment of an appropriate sentence.

I am pleased to see that the more senior judge agrees with me :-)

When the story first broke, I received a spam email selling a course on corporate PR. Its intro emphasised the commercial value of brand reputation and warned that it is fragile, as shown by the Oscar Pistorius.

The PR company no doubt thought they were on the button of topicality. I was ready to award them a prize for the most cynical exploitation of the tragic death of a young woman.
