I'm old-fashioned enough to think that valentines should be anonymous and unexpected (although these days that probably makes it "stalking"!), but I thought I'd share some of the really bad ones I've already seen. Have you seen worse ones?

Aside from the classic:

...I've seen two others with motifs that are cringing:

"You're on my 'to-do-list!"

"I'm so happy we're both too lazy to find someone better!"

Anyone seen worse?

I have seen one whose message was along the lines of "I hate people, but you're not too bad"

From a website called "The Life Of Sharks", a card with a pic of a hammerhead shark with the legend "I Hate You Less Than Everyone Else"

I have to admit that this would be my choice if I was going to send someone a VD card.

Yes, that was intentional.

I've seen "I love you from the bottom of my fart"

I've seen "You'll Do" and "I love you with all my willy".

I will not be sending one this year.

My old man gets me lovely sentimental ones. I get him rude and funny ones.

That seems like a fair reflection of the two of you ;-)

And here I am, thinking it's either a disease or the day of victory from the war.

Your hair is like a velvet wave
Your lips like soft ripe cherries.
Unfortunately, you've got brains
Like Seaborne Freight has ferries.

It is a rather unfortunate pair of initials, isn't it? I remember that the singer Val Doonican used to be the butt of a number of jokes along the lines of "he'll never have a personalized number plate".

or the day of victory from the war.

I know you're in Australia, but did they call it VD Day over there? Here we had VE Day (Victory in Europe) and VJ Day (Victory over Japan).

Salisbury City Council appears not to be entirely certain what VJ Day is called. It's VJ Day in the text, but look at the header.

Took a while, but then I saw the tab label. Perhaps they are suffering from altitude sickness brought on by their cathedral with its world famous spire 131 metres...
