Seriously, though, they turn by going up or down a bit. This video shows what I mean.

Fascinating! I don't care what QI says, I'm guessing the fall/fatality rate is fairly high.

Even in this one clip we see how extremely lucky it was that there was a second ledge below, when it slips at 1:46.

ahh, but there will largely always be some sort of thin ledge, rocky outcropping - catching a hold of it when he slipped is ... what they do, thus not luck, but the inherent skill of being an Alpine Ibex goat :). Thus it shows exactly why there are so few falls and injuries
