hi i'm new! :-D

um, what happens if an answer is wrong?

i've been watching repeats on uktv gold (back to back, yay!) and in the first series there was a question as to how many moons the earth has. alan said one, as you would (!), and it was a clanger. the answer given was two, with the second being Cruithne. However, a 30-second google tells me that Cruithne is NOT a moon, because although it has a 1:1 orbit around the earth, it is not gravitationally bound to the earth.

bad elves. boo. >:-(

Could it be that Google facts are more recent than UKTV Gold facts?

Just wondering...

A quick google also reveals that Elvis lives on the Moon, of course.

How is Cruithne pronounced and which language is it taken from?

I don't remember the answer on the programme but I remember 1 being the forfeit answer.

Didn't the show say the number dropped back because of 'Crueenya' (and maybe others) having sort of a parallel orbit rather than going the earth? Or was it a dream?

The second series had a question about other Earth co-orbitals, and made the point that Cruithne isn't strictly a moon. In fact we penalised Alan for saying "two" because the correct answer is either more or less than two, depending on how you define 'moon', but definitely not two.
